What IR professionals are saying

Early beta feedback from IR teams, communications coaches, and buy-side analysts.

I've been in IR for 15 years and we've never had objective data on vocal delivery. We prep our CEO on content endlessly but this is the first time I can show him acoustically where his stress comes through.

The Street picks up on things executives don't notice themselves. Knowing that Tim Cook's HNR was at a career peak the same call he missed guidance by 4% — that's the kind of signal I want to understand better.
Buy-side analyst

Long/short equity fund
Our CFO was completely unaware he was rushing through difficult questions at 40+ wpm faster than his prepared remarks. One quarter of coaching and his Q4 call was the cleanest he'd delivered in years.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the methodology, data, and product.

  • What acoustic features does ToneIQ analyze?

ToneIQ extracts 8 biomarkers per speaker: pitch mean and variance, jitter (cycle-to-cycle pitch variation), shimmer (amplitude variation), HNR (harmonics-to-noise ratio), speech rate in WPM, pause frequency, and energy variance. Each is benchmarked against our database of 500+ S&P 500 earnings calls.

  • What data does ToneIQ use to benchmark?

Our benchmark database includes over 500 publicly available earnings calls from S&P 500 companies across sectors, spanning 2020–2026. We segment by sector, company size, and speaker role (CEO vs. CFO) so your percentile is always apples-to-apples.

  • How is ToneIQ different from transcript sentiment tools?

Most earnings call analytics tools analyze what was said — positive/negative language, topic modeling. ToneIQ analyzes how it was said. Acoustic stress markers are physiologically harder to fake than word choice. A CEO can choose confident words while their voice reveals the opposite.

  • What audio formats do you support?

We support MP3, MP4, WAV, and M4A. For public companies, we can also pull directly from SEC-filed audio links or earnings call services. Processing time is typically 3–5 minutes for a full one-hour call.

  • Can ToneIQ be used for pre-call practice?

Yes. Upload a practice recording and get the same full report. Many IR teams use ToneIQ in the 72 hours before a call — running rehearsals, identifying stress patterns in specific Q&A scenarios, and tracking preparation quality.

  • Who is ToneIQ built for?

Primarily IR teams at public companies who own the earnings process. Also valuable for communications coaches, executive coaches, and buy-side analysts who want deeper signal from public calls.
